A Potting Bench is A Great Addition to Any Gardener's Tools

Wouldn't it be great not to break your back bending over to pot your plants? What about having somewhere to store all of your potting tools without having to walk back and forth to the shed the whole time you are trying to pot your plants? A potting bench may just be the answer you are looking for. Potting benches offer a place to pot your plants without constantly bending over, plenty of room to lay out your pots, your plants, the soil and your tools and they have storage cubbies and drawers to keep your tools out of the way and out of the weather.

These benches can be used inside or left outside, according to your preferences. They are made of solid wood construction and have drawers and cubbies for storage of your most used gardening tools. The work area is a generous size, so you have plenty of room to sit your pots, the plants you are potting, your potting soil and your tools.

You can purchase potting tables or benches at most gardening stores, or you can go online and find one.  You can also find used potting benches that are in good shape at sites such as eBay. The price of the potting bench will depend on the style you order and what kind of wood it is made of. Oak seems to be the most popular for making  this type of bench, but they can be found in almost any wood, including teak.

If you do your potting outside in an uncovered area, be sure to cover the bench with something such as a painter’s plastic drop cloth in inclement weather. With proper care, your potting bench can be valued gardening tools for years and years to come.
